Congratulations!
Class of 2009

NBHS June 8, 2009 This was an extraordinary year for NBHS. At our 2009 graduation ceremony on Sunday June 7, fifty-eight North Brookfield High School students received their diplomas and more than $95,000 in local and state awards and scholarships; this does not include scholarships students may have received from the colleges or universities they will attend in the fall.

This year's ceremony was made even more special by a NBHS tradition dating back to 1859. SInce that time, at every fiftieth year graduation, the valedictorian of the previous generation awards the current valedictorian a scholarship. In keeping with this tradition, Mr. Harvey Reed, Valedictorian of the Class of 1959 awarded this year's Valedictorian, Madison Hicks, a scholarship of $500 which she accepted with the promise that she would return in fifty years to continue this tradition.

Congratulations to all of our graduates!

Physical Exams for Students Playing Sports

NBHS May 27, 2009 It is manadatory that all students who want to play sports during the 2009-2010 school year must have a doctor's physical. If the student did not have a physical during the sports clinic on June 9/10, the physical should be done by a family doctor prior to the start of the sports season.

What NB Teachers Are Reading This Summer

NBPS June 25, 2009 Summer is the time we all look forward to, and among the many things on the summer “to-do” list is to read some great books. The staff of the North Brookfield Schools would like to offer the following titles for summer reading. Each employee of our school community was asked to recommend a book or two that they have read recently with a short description of the book. Take a look at what's on our list - and if you see a title more than suggested more than once it is probably a good book! Here are the suggestions, in no particular order… Recommended Summer Reading ...

Summer Reading 2009

NBPS May 1, 2009 Students have selected the books they will read for their summer reading assignment; however, some classes may have additional assignments. Any student who wants to change the book he/she is reading this summer must have approval from his/her English teacher before the end of the school year. New students transferring to NBHS may select any book of interest from the list. Summer Reading (Word doc) .... Summer Reading (Adobe pdf)

Summer Reading : 7 th and 8 th Grade

All students going into seventh or eighth grade for the 2009-2010 school year will be required to read the book Wait Till Helen Comes by Mary Downing Hahn.  This is a great book with plenty of suspense, action, and supernatural elements.  A quiz will be given in all middle school classes during the first week of school.  The grades will count toward the students' ELA averages for first term.  There are also four assignments that must be done related to this book. The site is not managed by the North Brookfield School District and has no official association with the school or school district; however, we would like to provide you information about the site for your own convenience.
